India Shawn Announces New EP Subject to Change, Shares Rain on Me

India Shawn will release her first project in four years this spring. The singer-songwriter announced her new EP,Subject to Change, will arrive May 1 via Vanta Music.

Executive produced by D’Mile, who co-owns the label with engineer John Kercy,Subject to Changewill include the lead single, “Rain On Me,” available now.

The hazy production, helmed by D’Mile and Spencer Stewart, drifts like a clouded sky as Shawn sings about being showered with love. “I like when you rain on me / Ooh, you make me feel so beautiful / Baby, spend it all on me / I’m the only girl you do it for / Just keep loving me with a purpose,” she coos.

Speaking on her new song, Shawn said, “‘Rain On Me’ is the feeling every woman wants. To be loved in abundance and to feel secure with someone who sees her value and shows up for her fully.”

“Rain On Me,” Shawn’s first release of the year, follows her 2025 singles “Gone,” “Cotton Candy Blvd” with Lucky Daye and “Kill Switch.” It’s not clear if any of those three songs will appear onSubject to Changeor remain standalones.

Subject to Changewill follow Shawn’s debut album,Before We Go (Deeper), released in 2022 via Epic Records. The project was an extension of her 2021 EP,Before We Go, which includes “Movin’ On” with Anderson .Paak, “Not Too Deep” featuring 6LACK and “Too Sweet” with Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
