Griff launches competition to win her Taylor Swift support dress

Griff has launched a competition to win the hand-made dress she wore while supporting Taylor Swift last weekend.

The singer supported Swift at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night (22 June) and designed her own deconstructed gown inspired by the lyrics of Swift’s track ‘But Daddy I Love Him’ – ”Now I’m running with my dress unbuttoned/Screaming ‘But Daddy I love him’.

“I really fell in love with ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, and more specifically ‘But Daddy I Love Him’,” she told British Vogue. “I’ve always been drawn to a big dress shape and deconstructed fashion… I wanted the dress to almost look open, to flow.”

She added: “To me, the bone in my body that likes making songs is the same one that enjoys making clothes. Be it a song or a dress… something might not exist right now, but then in two hours, it could.”

For a chance to win Griff’s dress, you can pre-order her album via her webstore.

It’s not the first time the singer has made her own tour outfits, either. She made the clothes she and her band wore when she performed at the BRIT Awards in 2021, the year she also collected her Rising Star Award, and it’s something she’s continuing over three years later.

When Swift introduced Griff on stage at Wembley, she told the audience: “You started off getting to see an artist I am such a huge fan of. This girl, she is so creative on every single level. She’s in complete control of everything that goes into her writing, her producing, she even makes her own outfits for stage. I love her so much, and I’m so happy that she decided to come out and perform and open up this show.”

At BBC Radio One’s Big Weekend a few weeks ago, Griff told NME about her excitement for the Taylor Swift show. “Eight-year-old me who had ‘Fearless’ on repeat wouldn’t believe this,” she said. “I’m unbelievably grateful to Taylor for all the love she’s shown me and my music.”

She also discussed her upcoming debut album, ‘Vertigo’ – which she’s recently brought forward by a week for a July 12 release – describing it as “heartbroken but also euphoric,” and explained that she chose the album title because “all the songs have been written from an emotional sense of vertigo, and heartache and sadness often feels like that.”

Griff also recently announced that she’s set to support Sabrina Carpenter on the US leg of her tour, as well as going on her own headline tour. You can buy Griff tickets here.
