Muni Long is feeling romantic in her new song “Slow Grind.”
Released ahead of Valentine’s Day (Feb. 13), the bedroom jam finds Long craving a night full of passion with her partner.
“One time, I wanna slow grind, baby / All night, I wanna slow grind, baby,” she sings in the chorus.
Speaking on “Slow Grind,” Long notes, “This song may lead to unforgettable nights. Listen accordingly.”
“Slow Grind” was written solely by Long, who also co-produced it with Charlie Coffeen. It marks her first solo release since her sophomore album, Revenge, dropped in August 2024.
The album spawned her Grammy-winning hit “Made For Me (Live on BET),” which won Best R&B Performance at the 67th Grammy Awards.
At the same ceremony, Long was nominated for Best R&B Album (Revenge), Best Traditional R&B Performance (“Make Me Forget“) and Best R&B Song (“Ruined Me”).

After releasing Revenge, Long teamed up with rapper GloRilla on “Don’t Deserve” from her debut album, Glorious. GloRilla also appears on Long’s “Leave Me Baby” from Revenge.
“I love Glo. I think she’s super funny and her punchlines make me laugh,” Long told Rated R&B in a 2024 interview. “She was a natural fit for me. When I heard her verse, I was blown away because it was super catchy, but she was also singing.”
Most recently, Long joined forces with pop-soul artist Teddy Swims on “Black & White” from his latest album, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2).
