Joy Denalane Shares New Song ‘The Show’

R&B

Truthfully, we all can fall from grace, but it doesn’t mean we’re less human in the eyes of others. According to Joy Denalane and her starring new track, it simply means we were a part of “The Show.”

The traditional soul number joins Denalane’s seasoned voice with the production of her frequent collaborator Roberto Di Gioia. Each word is eye-opening but honest, revealing how those we love and respect aren’t sinless but have unpleasant faults and stumbles of their own.

As children become teenagers and start to see the world more for what it is, even the flaws of their parents, Denalane said she co-wrote “The Show” to “soften the shock of that realization for kids and help them navigate them through the complexities of life.”

“The Show” is the second offering from Denalane this year. In March, she immortalized the legacy of Bill Withers with a remake of his 1972 hit “Use Me.” It arrived with a music video.

Let Yourself Be Loved, Denalane’s Motown debut album was named one of Rated R&B’s 30 best R&B albums of 2020
