Elmiene Shares New Song ‘Light Work’

R&B

When Elmiene is in love, it’s not a hassle to show it, as indicated in his new song “Light Work.”

Over a bright and airy production helmed by Ozmoses ArKetex, the Oxford, U.K., native sings about the ease of being with someone who is on the same page as him. Specifically, the song captures those early moments of two people falling in love.

“Before you came I thought I drained my luck / Now you’ve redefined the way I smile / Oh, you came to me / Believe me, girl, you’re majestic,” he croons.

“Light Work” is the follow-up to Elimene’s Live From 525. The nine-track EP was recorded during a jam session that was also broadcast on Instagram Live from Los Angeles earlier this summer.

The setlist included covers of songs by Midnight Star (“Slow Jam”), Frank Ocean (“Pink Matter”), and Prince (“Sometimes it Snows in April”), as well as a couple of his own songs such as “Sweetness.”

Elmiene has consistently been releasing music this year. He launched 2024 with Live at RAK Studios, a live project recorded in London.

In March, he released Marking My Time (Again), an extended version of his 2023 EP featuring three bonus tracks. In the same month, he released his D’Mile-produced single “Crystal Tears,” before following up with “Sweetness” and his “Sweetness” remix with Leon Thomas
