Breland Enlists Keith Urban for New Song ‘Throw It Back’

R&B

As the temperature continues to rise, so does the urge to shake our moneymakers. For that reason, genre-bending artist Breland has ordered us to the dance floor for a country twerk anthem titled “Throw It Back” featuring Keith Urban.

The instrumentation is a cross-breeding of hip-hop and country influences, incorporating a driving bass and a twang that will have listeners grabbing for their rodeo belt buckles. The lyrics are crafted around a double entendre, where the title could apply to both drinks and a woman’s tush, backing it up following a round of shots.

Breland, who collaborated with Urban on the song “Out the Cage,” said their recent track was “the first song Keith, and I ever worked on together, and despite it being so sonically left of center, he immediately recognized it as a special song and started adding his iconic flavor to the record.”

Calling Breland his “brother from another mother,” Urban added, “I LOVE creating with him. Everything is so simpatico and matter of fact – here it is! ”

A supporting video for “Throw It Back” was released, and Bobby Bruder directed it. Watch it below.

In 2020, Breland issued his self-titled project. It featured the viral hit “My Truck,” which has more than 45 million streams on Spotify.
