R&B upstart Chase Shakur has released The Stunt-Man Pack, a two-track EP, via Def Jam Recordings.
According to press materials, The Stunt-Man Pack is a first taste of what fans can expect from his debut album, Wonderlove, set to release later this year.
Shakur opens with “Yolanda,” a breezy bop produced by Daniel Barrett and Isaiah Kaleo, where he sings about an insecure love interest. “Just ’cause you see me with another b*ch, don’t mean sh*t / Check your phone / Hit you when I’m home,” he sings.
“Options,” also produced by Barrett and Kaleo, with additional contribution from Aksel Arvid, a downtempo groove made for the bedroom. “Break that body, too crazy / But when I buss down, you everything but silent,” Shakur croons.
“STUNTMAN PACK has a little something for everyone. I wanted to put two tracks together that felt different, but that a lot of people could relate to,” explains Shakur. “I’ve been working on my album and this is some of my favorite music that I’ve ever made. I’m really excited for fans to hear it.”
Shakur’s two-track project is his first taste of new music since releasing it’s not you, it’s me…it’s love last September.
As fans anticipate Shakur’s upcoming album, the Atlanta native has a few festival stops lined up, including Rolling Loud California (March 17), Dreamville Festival (April 7) and Sol Blume (May 5).
