Comedy troupe Broken Lizard stormedLimp Bizkit’s stage dressed as theirSuper Troopers characters to issue the band with a “noise complaint” – watch below.
It took place on Saturday (July 18), when Fred Durst and co. headlined the opening night of Creed’s two-day Summer Of ’99 And Beyond Festival at the Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Illinois.
Towards the end of their set, members of Broken Lizard arrived in costume as the Vermont state troopers from their cult comedy franchise and pretended to shut down the show over the volume.
At first, some of thecrowdappeared unaware that the interruption was part of a routine. One member of the troupe then shouted: “Shut up, all you chicken-fuckers. With these lights on, I can see all you chicken-fuckers there.”
“You’re a chicken-fucker, you’re a chicken-fucker,” he continued, pointing into the audience. “All of you up there are chicken-fuckers.”
The troupe eventually abandoned thesupposed noisecomplaint and joinedthe bandon stage for the closing rendition of ‘Break Stuff’.

The festival brought togethera number ofacts associated with late-’90s and early-’00s rock, includingCypress Hill,Bush,PuddleOfMuddandHoobastank. Creed headlined its second night yesterday (July 19).
Broken Lizardarecurrently promotingSuper Troopers 3, which is due to arrive in cinemas on August 7 through Searchlight Pictures.
The film reunites troupe members Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske as the Vermont officers first introduced in 2001’sSuper Troopers. It follows 2018 sequel Super Troopers 2and will also feature returning cast members Brian Cox and Marisa Coughlan.
The cameo comes shortly afterLimp Bizkitbrought comedian Tom Green on stageduring their performance at Ottawa Bluesfest on July 11. Green, who grew up in the area, joined Durst for ‘Rollin’ (Air Raid Vehicle)’, throwing himself into the track and trading lines with the vocalist.
Limp Bizkit also headlined Download Festival for the first time last month, 23 years after they were originally due totopthe bill. During the set, they paid tribute to their late bassist Sam Rivers,who died last year and was described by the band as “the soul in the sound”.
Guitarist Wes Borland recently said the bandare“the biggest we’ve ever been right now”amid their recent resurgence.
“It’scrazy. AndI’mnot saying that in a cocky way.I’msaying that, like, wecan’tbelieve it,” he explained. “We just get along so well now, and everybody, we’re adults, and we’re still having fun doing it, and I think that translates to the audience.”
The band’s most recent single, ‘Making LoveToMorgan Wallen’,arrived last September and marked their first new material since the 2021 album ‘Still Sucks’.
