Vince Staples Has a Message for Critics: Albums Arent Supposed to Be Perfect

Vince Staples has a message for fans and critics.

During a recent episode of his weekly Apple Music radio show 5 on Fridays With Vince Staples, the Long Beach rapper said that people shouldn’t always expect perfection when it comes to albums.

“Albums aren’t supposed to be perfect, you a–hole. You’re not perfect!” he told listeners. “You wipe your butt like everybody else, pal. And we know you don’t have the Wet Wipes. We know you don’t have the bidet. Don’t think that we don’t know that you don’t have the bidet. You know, they’re not that common in America, so you get on the Internet with your sh–ty butt and you talk poorly about people’s creative choices. It’s not nice of you to do so. We will never talk about that streak you have going up the crack of your a– because you don’t have a pack of the Wet Wipes.”

He added: “Wipe your a– before you talk about people’s albums. It’s 8 in the morning, why are you so upset? Grow up.”

Vince’s latest offering, Cry Baby, has sparked conversation online due to its genre-defying sound and he has defended his choice to be able to make the music he wants to make during a live performance earlier this year.

“You know, they told me, ‘You can’t make this, you gotta do straight hip-hop, it’s gonna translate better with your audience.’ Whatever the f— that means,” he told the crowd as he expressed his frustration with the music industry.
