Museum of Light will be unveiling their latest record, Diviner, on March 14 via Spartan Records. Ahead of time, check out the video for “Blunt Force Drama” to get a taste of the album.

The trippy Seattle band are at it again with another haunting, heavy release following on the hills of their debut record, Horizon. The album features the addition of, as the press release says, “certified Tøne Lörd Jeff Bartlett,” which is quite a title to live up to. It also features vocals from singer Elissa Alvarez who uses her opera training to give the record a haunting quality.

“’Blunt Force Drama’ is a bit representative of the whole recording experience in that the basic structure existed for a while, but it only really took shape at Ocean Sound. You can spend a lot of time rehearsing and think, “yeah, this could be a cool song,” but it’s largely in your mind until you hear all the unknowns—new bassist, new voices, crazy location—fall into place,” the band’s Ted Alvarez says about the album. “In my memory, this one came early and quick. I can recall Scott blasting an early mix while staring out across a damn fjord and thinking, ‘Alright, we might be on to something.’ Not all the songs came together that easily, but I’m glad this one did because it set a bit of a road map for the giant sounds and moods we were going for.”
