H.E.R.’s Debut Album ‘Back of My Mind’ Goes Gold

R&B

H.E.R. continues to collect plaques from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Her debut album, Back of My Mind, has been certified gold by the RIAA with more than 500,000 equivalent units sold.

Back of My Mind, released June 18 via MBK Entertainment/RCA Records, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard R&B Albums chart. The 21-track project features guest appearances from Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, Bryson Tiller, DJ Khaled, Lil Baby, Hit-Boy Cordae, YG, and Yung Bleu.

This isn’t H.E.R.’s only RIAA certification this month. “Best Part,” her duet with Daniel Caesar, has been certified 5x multi-platinum with more than five million units sold. It was certified 4x multi-platinum in January.

H.E.R.’s two new awards join the seven other plaques she earned just this year: “Comfortable” (gold); “Could’ve Been” (2x multi-platinum); “U” (gold); I Used to Know Her (gold); “B.S.” [with Jhené Aiko] (2x multi-platinum); “Damage” (platinum); and “Slide” [feat. YG] (2x multi-platinum).

The 23-year-old has a busy schedule ahead of her. On September 18 and 19, she will host her two-day Lights On Festival in Concord, California. Day one will feature performances from Erykah Badu (headliner), Keyshia Cole, Ty Dolla $ign, Masego, Tiana Major9, Maeta, Ajanee, Samaria, Brianna Castro and Blxst.

On day two, H.E.R. (and friends) will serve as the headlining act. The lineup also includes Bryson Tiller, Ari Lennox, Lucky Daye, Kiana Ledé, Tone Stith, VanJess, Joyce Wrice, Marzz, Muni Long and Maxx Moor.

On October 10, H.E.R. will kick off her Back of My Mind Tour in Franklin, Tennessee. She will play in major cities across the U.S. including Dallas, Houston, Boston, Washington, D.C. and Detroit.
