Filth is Eternal Release New Video for “The Ritual”

Metal

If you’re not listening to Filth is Eternal’s Love is a Lie, Filth is Eternal, you’re doing it wrong. I sang the album’s praises prior to its release last month, and I’m here to remind you just what a goddamn ripper it is. True to its name, Love is a Lie, Filth is Eternal is twenty minutes of cathartic, squalid, no-bullshit metallic hardcore, and it’s been in my regular rotation since its release.

If you’re not yet hip to Filth is Eternal (f.k.a. Fucked and Bound), the band’s new music video, “The Ritual” will get you up to speed. It is extremely lo-fi — I keep thinking about my old VHS tape of the “Toxic Waltz” video, recorded off at Headbanger’s Ball at one in the morning or whatever — but it should be lo-fi. If you, like me, have not had the chance to attend a small, sweaty, purgative metal show since before the pandemic began, the clip may induce something resembling homesickness.

Watch the video for “The Ritual” below. Love is a Lie, Filth is Eternal is out now via Quiet Panic (USA) and Church Road (UK/EU). You can stream the entire thing at the bottom of this post, and purchase it here.

Metal Hammer also has a sweet new interview with guitarist Brian McClelland that goes pretty in-depth on the album, the band’s decision to change their name, all that good stuff. Read it here.
