Today host Craig Melvin drilled Jack Antonoff about his friend and frequent collaborator, Taylor Swift, and Travis Kelce‘s wedding. And the Bleachers frontman expertly (but awkwardly) dodged his questions at every turn.
On Friday, May 22, Antonoff appeared on the NBC morning show as a guest and performer as the frontman of Bleachers. While outside with the singer — who worked as a producer on Swift’s albums 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, and The Tortured Poets Department — Craig took the opportunity to try to pry details about the pop superstar’s upcoming nuptials with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
“Are you going to any big weddings this summer?” Melvin, 47, asked, to which Antonoff, 42, replied, “Uhh, umm…. Are you married?”
Melvin responded, “I am married. Fifteen years, this year,” of his wife, Lindsay Czarniak, with whom he shares two children, a son, Delano, and a daughter, Sybil.
“Oh great, how’s it going?” Antonoff asked, attempting to deflect the original question.
Melvin shared, “So far, so good. Unless you know something I don’t,”
That’s when Antonoff followed up with, “Is it gonna stick?” to which Melvin laughed and said, “Uh, I hope so. How about yours?
As Antonoff laughed, Melvin again asked, “Are you going to any big weddings this summer?”
“Uhhhh, I hope? Yeah, I hope so, man,” the Bleachers lead singer said, still deflecting the thinly-veiled question about Swift and Kelce, both 36.
Still, Melvin pressed, “Uh, where?” to which Antonoff cheekily mocked him and replied, “Um, yeah. I love being married, man. I’m happy you love being, too.”
A defeated Melvin then gave up, conceding, “That’s all you’re going to give me, huh?”
“Did we just have a moment?” Antonoff asked, to which Melvin acknowledged, “I think we did. That was a little awkward.”
In the comments, many Today viewers got a kick out of Melvin’s failed attempt at getting details about the wedding from one of Swift’s pals. One fan declared, “Craig understood the assignment.”
A second Instagram user echoed, “Great reporting, Craig,” as another pointed out, “Craig be messy. I love it.”
A different follower admitted, “I thought this was so awkward when I watched it live. I didn’t realize he was one of Tay’s buddies…..Now I get it.”
Meanwhile, yet another viewer praised how Antonoff handled the situation, writing, “Great deflecting, Jack. He’s a vault.”
Swift and Kelce are reportedly tying the knot in July, after announcing their engagement in August 2025.
