Tyla Cancels North American Tour

R&B

Tyla has canceled her debut tour’s North American leg due to an injury.

The rising South African singer shared the announcement in a letter to her fans on Instagram.

“As much as this is something I would rather have dealt with privately, it’s important that I share what I have to share with you today. For the past year I’ve been silently suffering with an injury that has tragically worsened. I’ve seen doctors and specialists with high hopes but the pain has only become more agonizing as has the severity of the situation,” wrote Tyla.

“I am absolutely heartbroken to have to say this but as of right now I won’t be able to proceed with the tour. In consulting with medical professionals it’s become increasingly clear that continuing any festival or tour dates would jeopardize my long-term health and safety.”

Tyla also noted all tickets for the North American leg will be automatically refunded to ticket buyers.

The U.K. and Europe leg will still go on; however, all the dates have been postponed until further notice. “For all other territories you will be contacted by your ticket provided regarding options, please keep a look out for new dates and information,” shared Tyla.

Tyla was scheduled to launch the U.K. and Europe leg on March 21 and the North American leg on April 22. As indicated in her letter, Tyla was also set to appear at various festivals, including Coachella, Governors Ball and TwoGether Land Festival.

Tyla’s self-titled debut album releases March 22 via Fax Records/Epic Records. The 14-track project includes her Grammy-winning hit “Water,” the Travis Scott-assisted “Water (Remix),” “Butterflies,” “Truth or Dare” and “On and On.
