You Me At Six to livestream final show of farewell tour, announce ‘The Final Nights Of Six’ documentary

You Me At Six have announced that they will be livestreaming the final concert of their farewell tour, and set to share a new documentary. Find out the details below.

It comes after the band announced their split after 20 years together last year, and confirmed that they would be bidding farewell to fans in a 2025 tour.

“When we started YMAS we were kids. We only ever wanted longevity, to travel and to experience life as a group of friends. We feel like on the eve of our 20th anniversary as a band, now is a good time to call time,” frontman Josh Franceschi said at the time.

“We’re in a fortunate position where our fans still want to see us live and come celebrate the life of this band. So that is what we will do for 2024 and 2025. We can’t wait to see our fans on the road.”

Now, as the band are gearing up to play the final night of their farewell tour next month, they have confirmed that it will be available for fans to watch via a global livestream. The gig will be held at the OVO Arena in Wembley on April 4, and comes 20 years to the day since their first-ever band practice.

The livestream will be held on Friday April 4 at 8:45 BST.

There will also be a new documentary about the farewell tour arriving on that day. Dubbed The Final Nights Of Six Tour Documentary, the tour film is set to get a world premiere on the same day and show a behind-the-scenes access-all-areas film shot across the whole tour. The dates kicked off in North America in October last year and since then have travelled through Europe and Australia, before finishing with a mammoth seven-week stint around the UK and Ireland.

It is the last chance for fans to see the band perform together, and tickets grant both access to watch the documentary premiere and final gig live, as well as a 72-hour on-demand period afterwards. Special merch will be available during this period, too. Visit here for tickets and find a trailer for the documentary above.

Upon the band announcing their plans to disband, the frontman spoke to NME about how they came to the decision and what life would look like for him after You Me At Six.

“We’ve been talking a lot over the last couple of years about what motivates us, collectively.  We’ve achieved everything we wanted to in the sense of the things that mattered most to us: playing Brixton [Academy], going to America and Australia. Two Number One records, all these sort of mad, stupid headlines,” he began.

“But the thing that mattered the most is longevity, getting closer and closer to that 20-year mark. We don’t need this band for self-indulgent reasons. We’re all really satisfied with what we’ve done, let’s just tie a nice little ribbon or bow around it. You don’t want to be the last ones hanging around at the party. We want to be a band that bowed out, not one that was kicked out.”

When asked if he plans to release solo material going forward, Franceschi said: “There’s no doubt in my mind that I’ll be creative, and making music. What that looks like, and in what capacity remains to be defined. Music’s been my life for 20 years.

“It’s definitely the most honest representation we can give, when we’re trying to project how we’re feeling. So again, that would be nuts, for me to not be doing that in some way. I’m sure the others will do exactly the same. We’ll see. But for now, that’s a completely different conversation.”

Remaining farewell tour dates for this month include shows in Cardiff, Southampton, Nottingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham. From there, the tour will conclude at the beginning of April with a slot at the O2 Academy Brixton on April 2, and the aforementioned final slot at Wembley Arena two days later.
