BLACKPINK singer Rosé has enlisted Bruno Mars for her new single ‘APT.’, from her upcoming debut solo album ‘rosie’.

BLACKPINK’s Rosé revealed in a press release that the Bruno Mars-assisted ‘APT.’ is actually inspired by her “favourite Korean drinking game that I play with my friends back home”.

“One night in the studio I taught my crew how to play the game. Everyone was fascinated, especially when I started the chant, so we played around with it and I said we should make a song out of it,” she explained. “After Bruno joined the track, the rest became history!”

Meanwhile, the accompanying music video for ‘APT.’ was co-directed by Mars and Daniel Ramos, both of whom also worked on the visual for ‘Die With A Smile’, the singer’s August collaboration with Lady Gaga.

‘APT.’ is the first single from Rosé’s upcoming debut solo studio album, titled ‘rosie’. The record, which the singer previously described as a “little journal”, will be released on December 6, 2024.

The singer had announced ‘rosie’ shortly after she inked a deal with Atlantic Records, which is also home to Mars, as well as other popular artists such as Ed Sheeran and Charli XCX.

‘APT.’ is also the BLACKPINK member’s first solo single since her debut single album ‘R’ in 2021, which included the songs ‘On The Ground’ and ‘Gone’. She also sang the solo track ‘Hard To Love’ on BLACKPINK’s 2022 studio album ‘Born Pink’.

The song is also the latest in a slew of solo releases from the members of BLACKPINK. Earlier this month, Jennie has kicked off her new solo era with a brand-new single, titled ‘Mantra’. Meanwhile, Lisa collaborated with Rosalía on ‘New Woman’ in August.
