Video Premiere: Stress Test – ‘Bastard Behavior’

Metal

Oregon thrash/punk crew Stress Test come from a few bands you’ve probably heard of—namely gothic heavy metallers Unto Others and black/death outfit Drouth—but their sound is something new and aggressive. Rooted as much in Aus-Rotten style D-beat and Napalm Death style grind as they are in energetic crossover thrash, Stress Test will soon release their debut EP. Until then, we’ve got first ripper “Bastard Behavior.”

Blasting out of the gate at a cool two minutes and twenty seconds, “Bastard Behavior” is full of mosh parts, power chords and a hell of a drum performance by Colin Vranizan. If you like Power Trip and Glacial Tomb, Stress Test are a band you need to hear expeditiously.

“This is a record I’ve been wanting to make for years but, until recently, never felt I had enough energy to actually put together,” explains guitarist/vocalist Brandon Hill, also of Unto Others. “Late last year I finally felt motivated enough, or maybe disgusted with the world enough, to finally turn the ideas into something.”

Check out the vid below and throw Stress Test a follow on Bandcamp so you can stay in the know.
