There’s a new tech death band in town, hailing from both Baltimore and New Jersey and dishing out us some classic, heavy brutality, get to know Revenge Beast via their new video for “Egregore,” which we have below.
Revenge Beast are guitarist Marc Rizzo, vocalist Jay Decay, bassist Brennan McShane, and drummer Doug Gussio. Drawing inspiration from bands like Soulfly, Suffocation, Morbid Angel and Lamb of God, Revenge Beast are primed to add their fresh perspective on the heavy music scene.
“Egregore’ is when the four of us really started hitting our stride as a group,” says McShane. “The technicality and the groove of this song really kickstarted the writing process for this record. Once Marc sent everyone the riffs for this track, we knew this one was going to be dangerous. The crushing, pummeling riffs and savage, machine gun-like vocal delivery instantly catch the ear from the beginning of the track. The lyrical content, particularly the chorus, is one of our favorite moments of the record, which we envision will be a big high point for our listeners.”
“Egregore” is the first single from their self-titled full-length release through Upstate Records and Bloodblast Distribution in mid-2023.
