Video Premiere: Morgue Terror – “Broken, Beaten, Beheaded”

Metal

Trigger warning: There’s an evil clown in the latest video from Buffalo, New York death metal duo Morgue Terror. The video for new track “Broken, Beaten, Beheaded” offers a nod to the Terrifier movies series with a low-budget version of Art the Clown prowling throughout. In fact, the whole of Morgue Terror’s self-titled, five-song debut EP is dedicated to the murders and characters in the Terrifier movies. But let’s not confuse this video with anything more than a loving (but not entirely serious) tribute, as the two members of the band—Dave (guitars) and Steve (bass/vocals)—don’t really seem too freaked out by “Art,” even though (spoiler alert!) one of them ends up sawed into pieces and pushed into an incinerator.

The video was made by Charles Butera of Promoting Buffalo and the EP was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Doug White at Watchmen Studios in Lockport, New York. The EP is set for release digitally on January 5, 2024. You can preorder it here.

Here’s what the band had to say about the track:

“’Broken, Beaten, Beheaded’ was the last song written out of the five on the EP. This was inspired by the end of the second Terrifier film when Art the Clown was hunting Sienna and her brother Jonathon in the church. They were hurt, damaged and beside themselves. Battling back and forth, the young Sienna gets the last laugh, beheading Art in this longer fight scene, struggling for survival. As for the actual music, it entails a mix of quicker and slower sections with some nasty vocals.”
