Video Premiere: Embrium – ‘Eclipse’

Metal

Hailing from San Francisco, Embrium have been steadily carving out a place for themselves among the extreme metal scene with their graceful fusion of shoegaze and post-black metal. Following the release of their 2021 debut EP, Embrium have worked on Timekeeper, their debut full-length set for a March release. Exactly two months from its unveiling, Embrium have shared the video for “Eclipse,” an emotive track accompanied by a theatrical video.

As the band explains, it’s actually inspired by Japanese author Kentaro Miura and his work on the manga Berserk.

“‘Eclipse’ is inspired by the work of Kentaro Miura and reflects on the absolute struggle within the world of Berserk,” the band tells Decibel. “It’s about the weight of ambition, the scars left by our choices in pursuit of that ambition, and the tension between what we strive for and what we leave behind. The song captures that moment when everything shifts—when light gives way to shadow, and you’re forever changed.”

Check out the video for “Eclipse” below and hit Embrium’s store to pre-order Timekeeper, or hear their older music on Bandcamp.
