Vanishing Kids, the Wisconsin-based dream doom and gothic psych-rock innovators have released a captivating new video for their single “Demon Glove.” This haunting track is the third single from their critically acclaimed album Miracle of Death, released by Aural Music.

Set in a surreal, dreamlike forest, the “Demon Glove” video mirrors the song’s dark, atmospheric tone. The band weaves effervescent and eerie imagery, with Nikki Drohomyreky’s haunting vocals guiding the viewer through a world that feels melancholy and otherworldly. The addition of Gavin Epperson’s violin enriches the track, adding emotional depth that heightens the longing in the song’s bluesy riffs and ethereal synth layers.

Miracle of Death, written during the isolation of the pandemic, explores life, death, and the emotional spaces in between. The album seamlessly merges influences from heavy doom, shoegaze, and gothic psychedelia, creating a lush, immersive soundscape. Vanishing Kids have been praised for their ability to evoke strong emotions through their music, which combines 70s rock influences with modern, gothic undertones. Tracks like “Demon Glove” showcase the band’s evolution, mixing heavier elements with their signature dreamy aesthetic.

About the video, guitarist Jason Hartman told Decibel, “Nikki writes the lyrics and likes to keep them open to individual interpretation. However, “Demon Glove” is about feeling trapped by addiction. [The video] was filmed at Nikki and my home in the forest of Wisconsin.” About the album, he continued, “We are still very proud of Miracle of Death and feel it’s our strongest work to date. The inclusion of Randall Dunn was a dream for the project! We are already working on its follow-up.” So you hear it here first – time to start getting excited for the next Vanishing Kids release.

With its layered sound and visuals, this is a must-watch for gothic and doom-inspired music fans.
