Track Premiere: Tombs of Disgust – ‘Shadow of War’

Metal

Ready for a dose of brutal death metal in your day? Canadian death dealers Tombs of Disgust are prepping to release their new EP, Shadow of War, in summer 2025 and they’re keeping the hype train rolling with a premiere of the title track.

The song’s message is blunt, explains vocalist Josh Willms:

“‘Shadow of War’ is written as an anagram to society,” the singer explains. “The depictions of war and violence have always caused significant damage on the mind. Whether it’s the war on drugs, the war of gun violence or war overseas, mental health has no mercy and chooses who ever it wants. This song is for those who suffer and remember you’re not alone.”

That message is driven home with meat-and-potatoes brutal death metal: pig squeals, downtuned chugging riffs and grooves that could knock your head clean off your shoulders. Check it out below.

No announce date has been confirmed for Shadow of War but you can follow Tombs of Disgust on social media to stay updated.
