Sh*t That Comes Out Today – April 22nd, 2022

Metal

The weather and planet are not the only things heating up this week! We’ve got some new jams from a trio of favorite metal bands to check out.

Dorothy

Gifts From The Holy Ghost (Roc Nation)

This week, Dorothy blazes in with Gifts From The Holy Ghost, their third studio album, which blends straight forward heavy metal with some good ol’ country swing and born-again-Christian swagger. The end result is a triumphant record with the melancholy and remorseful undertones of a life pulled back from the edge and rectified by the Lord. Like high-waisted jeans on energy-drink chuggin’ partygoers, the band have a unique ability to infuse classic rock with today’s modern angst and Neo-Christian attitude. This album’s energetic groove is precisely what every retired party crasher needs.

Kirk Hammett

Portals EP (Blackened)

With his debut solo EP, Portals, Kirk Hammett presents a cinematic soundscape that elicits an exciting spectrum of emotions, all of which feel utterly fantastic. Portals is all things guitar-driven, guitar-focused, and guitar-dominated. There’s all the heavy-hitting appeal Metallica fans have grown to adore, as well as some of the signature stylistics that only Hammett can embody. As a rock and metal legend, Kirk has free rein to create whatever music he wants, and to that we say, please and thank you.

Undeath

It’s Time… To Rise From The Grave (Prosthetic)

On It’s Time… To Rise From The Grave, New York-based Undeath have returned to deliver us a brutal dose of classic death metal with a fresh perspective. The result of what the band has described as a conscious effort to craft tighter songs and greater hooks is an album that is clean, precise, and punishing. With insane drumming accents paired with Alexander Jones’ brutally strong and merciless voice, this album will have your bowels trembling for more.
