Scorpions Forced to Cancel India Tour Due to Unforeseen Medical Circumstances

Metal

We’ve got some bad news for Scorpions fans in India, unfortunately. They were supposed to head out on a four-city run for their “Coming Home” tour hitting Mumbai, Bengaluru, Shillong, and Delhi-NCR later this month, but sadly, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.

Scorpions were originally set to start the tour at the JN Stadium in Shillong on April 21, but the tour’s organizers BookMyShow made an announcement about the tour cancelation on their social media profiles earlier today (Saturday, April 18), saying it’s because of “unforeseen medical circumstances affecting the band members.” Sounds sadly familiar.

BookMyShow’s post said:

“We regret to inform you that the Scorpions ‘Coming Home’ India tour scheduled in Shillong on April 21st, Delhi-NCR on April 24th, Bengaluru on April 26th and Mumbai on April 30th, stands cancelled due to unforeseen medical circumstances affecting the band members.”

“We apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment caused to fans. The band are very keen to perform in India when possible and within their schedule.”

If you had ticket to one of the cancelled shows, BookMyShow says you’ll get automatically refunded within 7–10 business days, so at least there’s that.

Scorpions haven’t played in India for almost two decades, with their last run happening back in December 2007 as part of their “Humanity” world tour. Some of y’all weren’t even born yet!

While the cancellation post didn’t disclose who in the band was having a medical issue, it’s vocalist Klaus Meine whose been openly dealing with his health in the past to the point the band’s had to postpone performances before. They cancelled some of their South American 60th anniversary shows last May because he suffered a respiratory infection.

All we can say now is get well soon, whoever you are (or Klaus). India needs you!
