Sam Smithhas announced their fifth album ‘Hazel Eyes’ and shared its romantic new single ‘My Guy’ –checkit out below.
The singer-songwriter will release the new record and the follow-up to 2023’s ‘Gloria’ on August 21 via Capitol Records UK. It is availabletopre-order nowhere.
Fans have been given a taste of the record with‘My Guy’,a warm and heartfelt track that shows off Smith’sdeeplysoulfulvocals,over a minimal, restrained backing.“And like all good things, it caught me by surprise / You could dream he’s yours all you want, but he’s mine / He’s my guy,” Smith sings.

Speaking about the single, Smithhassaid: “This is a song that I feel I have been waiting a lifetime to write and sing. Written with beautiful friends on asummer’sday in New York, this one fell out of the sky.
“In this sometimes cold and distant world, I hope you can feel the love and the closeness of this recording. I tried to capture the glow and the warmth of love in this one, it makes me cry,maybe itwill make you feel a little love too.”
‘Hazel Eyes’,whichincludes the 2025 single ‘To Be Free’,was created alongside Smith’s longtime collaborator and friend Simon Aldred, with much of the 12-track album taking shape in New York.
Italso features contributions from Feist and multi-instrumentalist Shahzad Ismaily, who has worked with Yoko Ono and Damien Rice, with parts of the album recorded at Electric Lady Studios.
Smithhassaid: “This album is an incredibly special record to me. I have been writing it for over three years witha very smallgroup of beautiful, dear friends of mine.
“This album is very personal, and I feel I have deepened myself as an artist through the making of it, through being a producer on the record, to walking alongside this record from the start to the finish and pushing myself at every single turn. This record and this music is incredibly romantic. I’ve learned so many life lessons through making this album, and I’ve documented it all through the music.”

On Friday (June 26), Smith will mark the start of NYC Pride Weekend with an intimate performance atthe Booking.com Theater at the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center.
