Houston-based R&B group Sentury has achieved their first No. 1 hit.

The quartet’s cover of Jeffrey Osborne‘s “Only Human” claims the top spot this week at R&B radio. According to MediaBase, the song received 1,796 spins – an increase of 126 from the previous week – with 4.7 million audience impressions.

“What a journey it’s been, from the ground up to the top of the R&B charts. To every fan, every station, every ear that gave this record a chance, thank you. You didn’t just listen, you felt it, and that means everything,” Sentury wrote in an Instagram post.

“To our Sentury family, the team behind the scenes from promo to studio, engineering to execution, this win is yours too. Your hard work, passion, and belief brought this vision to life. We’re just getting started. Still moving, still building, and still spreading R&B and love everywhere we go. Let’s keep climbing.”

On Billboard, “Only Human” is No. 2 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart, currently dominated by Kevin Ross‘ “Love in the Middle” for a third week. It’s worth noting that the latter song is No. 2 at R&B radio.

Sentury – consisting of CJ, Leo, AJ, and Rico – released “Only Human” on Nov. 14, 2024, via Gateway Records.

The original version of “Only Human,” produced by Barry Eastmond, is the title track to Osborne’s 1990 album. The song peaked at No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart (now called Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs).

The former L.T.D. frontman’s Only Humanreached No. 9 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart, which was later renamed to Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. (It’s worth noting that the current Billboard Top R&B Albums chart is an entirely different chart that launched in 2012.)
