Rammstein vocalist Till Lindemann’s book publisher dropped him following allegations made earlier this week by a woman who claims she attended the band’s show in Lithuania. Now, the band have issued a statement in German about the claims.
Lindemann’s publisher, Kiepenheuer & Witsch, dropped the author over these allegations and the alleged use of his 2013 book In stillen Nächten in a porn movie that shows violence against women. At the same time, German news channel Tagesschau released a report with more accusations from women who claim to be victims of Lindemann.
The statement they issued, when translated into English, seems vague and unclear as to wether the band are admitting there is credence to these allegations:
“The publications of the last few days have caused irritation and questions among the public and especially among our fans. The allegations hit us all very hard, and we take them extremely seriously. We say to our fans: It is important to us that you feel comfortable and safe at our shows—in front of and behind the stage.
“We condemn any kind of transgression and ask you: Do not engage in public prejudice of any kind against those who have made allegations. You have a right to your point of view. But we, the band, also have a right—namely not to be prejudiced either.”
