Queen Naija Lands Three New RIAA Certifications

R&B

Queen Naija has been awarded three new honors by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Karma,” the second song release of her career, has been upped to 2x multi-platinum for selling over two million equivalent units in the U.S. It achieved gold and platinum certification in April 2019 and hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart the following month.

Queen Naija gained a 2x multi-platinum award for “Butterflies,” which also appears on her self-titled 2018 EP. It went gold in April 2019 and a year later advanced to platinum.

Additionally, her Lil Durk-assisted “Lie To Me” also has been moved into the platinum field after going gold in September 2021.

The song, co-produced by Oak Felder, Alex Nice and Keith “Ten4” Smalls, was issued with a music video as the third song from her debut album, Missunderstood

“This song is about a very unpopular truth that a lot of people hate to admit or face,” said Queen Naija in a previous statement of the Lil Durk collaboration. “We’ve all been at a point where we’ve tolerated more than we should have out of love. When I wrote songs, I tried to use every scenario.”

Queen Naija’s recent RIAA attainments come less than a month after Missunderstood…Still, the deluxe version, went gold. She has achieved this feat twice with a music collection.

More than anything else, Queen Naija’s new accolades follow her latest project, After the Butterflies, released on Nov. 17 on Capitol Records.

After the Butterflies is a project that features the previously released songs “Words of Affirmation” and “No Fake Love” with rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again.

The effort consists of 10 tracks and includes guest appearances from Monica, Ella Mai, and Eric Bellinger.

Queen Naija has stated that After the Butterflies is a project meant to bridge the gap until she finishes her third album, which currently has no title or release date.
