Nails to Release a New Record in 2024

Metal

Nails — yes, the beloved 2000’s grindcore band — will be back with a new record in 2024.

The band took to socials to announce the new album, which is very exciting to grindcore and hardcore fans. Nails were huge in the 2010s, and realized albums through 2016. They came out with the two-song single “I Don’t Want to Know You” in 2019, but didn’t release a full-length or any more music.

Now, seemingly with no warning, Nails dropped a pleasant surprise on us all and announced a new full-length for 2024, their second for Nuclear Blast. The record was recorded by legendary producer Kurt Ballou, so we know it’s gonna be good.

“New Nails LP coming Summer 2024 via Nuclear Blast Records engineered by Kurt Ballou. Thanks for sticking with us. Info forthcoming. Love you all.”

It’s not exactly clear who’s in the band right now apart from guitarist and vocalist Todd Jones, formerly of Terror, who founded the band back in 2009. At the time of the band’s formation, he was joined by bassist John Gianelli and drummer Taylor Young of Disgrace. They released their initial EP, Obscene Humanity, in 2009, and then Unsilent Death in 2010, Abandon All Life in 2013, and You Will Never Be One of Us in 2016 alongside a split with Full of Hell.

So it’ll be a surprise who is in the band now and what exactly they will sound like, but there’s been a definite resurgence in interest in the grindier and heavier side of metal lately, as the old school craze slowly morphs and drifts to include some of the even heavier stuff, so all signs point to 2024 being an absolutely crushing year with help from bands like Nails.
