Muni Long has returned with her new single “Delulu” via Def Jam Recordings. She co-wrote the ’80s-inspired ballad withThe DreamandTricky Stewart, who co-produced it with Ben Parris.
Over a breathy backdrop that ripples with airy synths and gated drums, Long wrestles with personal expectations in a relationship and the sobering reality. “Delulu” unpacks how love can spiral into an obsession that teeters on the brink of toxic territory. There is a sense of urgency to rush to an idealized and secure state to avoid the inevitable vulnerability of a slow “fall.”
Long sings, “As I fall asleep, I’m thinking of you / Baby, if I’m crazy, it’s because you / Don’t pick up the phone like you’re supposed to / I’m taking it personal.”
“Delulu” is Long’s second single of 2025, following the sensual “Slow Grind” that was released ahead of Valentine’s Day. Since then, the Grammy-winning singer hopped on Leon Thomas‘ “Yes It Is (Remix)” with Marsha Ambrosius and Elmiene‘s “Useless (Without You) – Begging Remix.”

“Delulu” and “Slow Grind” are Long’s first pair of tracks since releasing her sophomore album, Revenge, in August 2024. The album included the No. 1 hits “Made For Me,” “Make Me Forget” and “Superpowers,” which all topped Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
Long is currently supporting R&B icons Brandy and Monica on their The Boy Is Mine Tour, which kicked off Thursday night (Oct. 16) in Cincinnati. The North American tour also features support from Kelly Rowland, Coco Jones and Jamal Roberts, who was crowned winner of season 23 of American Idol.
Before releasing “Delulu,” Long teased on social media, “I’m out here being delusional and having my way again. My new single Delulu out on 10/17. And yes I will be singing it on tour. And yes the mic will be ON!”
