Amazon Music’s Country Heat Weekly podcast is back for Season 7, and they opened with one of the most talked-about names in the format right now: Megan Moroney.
Moroney joins hosts Kelly Sutton and Amber Anderson to break down her new album Cloud 9, the writing process behind it, and the headspace she was in while building the project. If you have been watching her momentum build over the last year, this episode feels like a check-in at exactly the right moment.
The conversation dives into how Cloud 9 came together creatively, what she learned about herself during the recording process, and how her connection with fans continues to shape her choices. Moroney has built one of the more engaged fan communities in modern country, and she speaks candidly about that relationship.
She also touches on her collaboration and friendship with Ed Sheeran and her admiration for artists like Kacey Musgraves. That cross-genre respect has been part of Moroney’s appeal from the beginning. She knows her lane, but she is not boxed in by it.
For anyone tracking the evolution of the current class of female country artists, this is worth a listen. Moroney is not just riding a viral wave. She is building a catalog.
