Monica to Join Nicki Minaj on ‘Pink Friday 2 World Tour’

R&B

R&B legend Monica will be joining rap icon Nicki Minaj as a special guest on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour.

Monica announced the news while on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Thursday morning (Feb. 8).

She will appear on the North American leg, which begins March 1 in Oakland, California. From there, Mo’ and Nicki will travel to Las Vegas, New Orleans, Atlanta, New York, Washington, D.C., and Chicago, before concluding May 13 in Oklahoma City.

“The GAG is, You have no idea what you’re in store for!!! I’m honored to be a part of History being made!!!” Monica wrote in a social media post

Monica, along with Keyshia Cole, recently teamed with Minaj on her song “Love Me Enough” from her Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe) album.

Given that Monica will be on the road with Minaj, there’s a possibility that she will join Minaj on stage to perform the self-love anthem.

There’s no question that Monica will perform some of her biggest hits and fan favorites on tour. She could also perform material from her oft-delayed album, Trenches, which is now expected to arrive later this year.

The upcoming album will include the Neptunes-produced title track featuring Lil Baby, “Friends” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and the latest single, “Letters.” The latter song, co-written by Ciara, debuted at No. 11 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart.

Monica not only has an R&B album coming but also a highly-anticipated country project, Open Roads, executive produced by Brandi Carlile. It’s also slated to arrive this year.
