Matthew Kiichi Heafy’s Ibaraki Drops New “Jigoku Dayu” Video |

Metal

Ibariki, the Japanese-themed metal project brought to us by Matthew Kiichi Heafy of Trivium fame, just dropped a video for “Jigoku Dayu.”

The video was created by Black Card Film, and the song is from the band’s debut album, Rashomon, which is out now.

Heafy says about the song:

“When I first witnessed the original classic Japanese painting of Jigoku Dayu, I was mesmerized; then I read the story. The story is one that still haunts me to this day: a woman captured, enslaved, and forced into a world of servitude. The kimono she forged for herself depicted all the scenes of hell—a metaphor of the prison she now lived in.”
