Marilyn Manson: Arrest Warrant Reportedly Issued For… Spitting

Metal

An arrest warrant for Marilyn Manson (né Brian Warner) has reportedly been issued in New Hampshire, charging the singer with two counts of misdemeanor simple assault… but not as a result of the deluge of recent allegations that the shock rocker abused multiple women, including former girlfriends and at least one assistant.

Instead, TMZ (by way of Lambgoat) reports, the charges stem from Manson spitting on a videographer during an August 2019 show at the Bank of NH Pavilion in Gilford, NH.

Although local law enforcement says the accuser suffered “no injuries,” some of Manson’s saliva did get on the alleged victim, which constitutes “unprivileged physical contact.”

Gilford police further assert that “Manson, his agent and his legal team have known about the warrant for some time,” but “no effort has been made by him to return to New Hampshire to answer the pending charges.” But Manson’s attorney, Howard King, denies that accusation:

“It is no secret to anyone who has attended a Marilyn Manson concert that he likes to be provocative on stage, especially in front of a camera. This misdemeanor claim was pursued after we received a demand from a venue videographer for more than $35,000 after a small amount of spit came into contact with their arm. After we asked for evidence of any alleged damages, we never received a reply. This whole claim is ludicrous, but we remain committed to cooperating with authorities, as we have done throughout.”

If convicted, Manson faces up to a year in prison and fine of $2,000, which I assume is about the cost of a day’s make-up when he’s on tour.
