Mariah the Scientist Announces New Album ‘Hearts Sold Separately’

Mariah The Scientist‘s fans won’t have to wait much longer for a new album.

The rising R&B star has announced her fourth album,Hearts Sold Separately, will release Aug. 22 via Epic Records.

She took to Instagram to unveil the official cover art, which shows a plastic army figure in salute against a pink backdrop.

“HEARTS SOLD SEPARATELY… 08/22 | Link in bio,” she wrote in the caption. She also previewed the back cover, showing the same green army figure dismembered on the ground with the tracklist blurred out.

The 10-track album will include the lead single, “Burning Blue,” which debuted at No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking her highest-charting song to date.

Produced by Nineteen85 and Jetski Purp, “Burning Blue” was released May 2 and has garnered nearly 35 million streams on Spotify since its debut.

Hearts Sold Separatelyfollows Mariah The Scientist’s 2023 album,To Be Eaten Alive, which marked her first release under Epic Records.

“I was reluctant to sign a new deal… But I was excited to find a partner that understands me as an artist and has the infrastructure to support me in the ways I need most,” she explained.

To Be Eaten Aliveincluded features from Young Thug, 21 Savage and Vory.

In other news, Mariah The Scientist recently joined The Recording Academy as a voting member. “I’m honored to be part of the Recording Academy’s 2025 New Membership Class,” she said. “I’ve always made music from a real place — honest, vulnerable, mine. To be invited into a space that uplifts artists like me is a full circle moment.”
