Majid Jordan (Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman) has announced their fourth album, Good People, will come out Nov. 3, via OVO Sound.
The announcement comes weeks after the duo announced a supporting tour and the album’s title.
Good People was recorded in both Toronto and Bahrain, finding the duo incorporating “sounds that are reminiscent and nostalgic of their roots to evoke emotions of love,” according to press materials.
Al Maskati says, “We were talking about how we wanted to evolve and move forward. We knew we wanted to focus on a love that was uplifting, that was mature.”
Majid Jordan previously stated together, “We strive to create warm music that evokes an emotion of love. It’s something that we practice in our daily lives, from the way we speak to each other to how we engage with the world around us.”
They continued, “The music and words are meant to serve as a gentle reminder of where we have come from, and how far we have gone. This album is dedicated to ourselves, our family, and to our fans that have been with us from the very beginning.”
Good People will feature previously shared songs, including “Waiting For You” which features OVO Sound labelmate Naomi Sharon, and “Hands Tied.”
The former song was released as the lead single back in September, while “Hands Tied” was unveiled at the time of the tour announcement.
Recently, Majid Jordan released “Violet,” the third song from their album Good People. The ethereal rhythm of the seven-minute track induces a trance-like state, while the lyrics express a yearning for reconciliation. It can be heard below.
Good People is the follow-up to Majid Jordan’s 2021 album, Wildest Dreams.
Majid Jordan will be launching the North American leg of their global tour, Good People Live, on Nov. 26 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The first run of the tour will come to an end on Dec. 16 at HISTORY in Toronto, before the band picks up the U.K. and European leg in early 2024.
