Live Nation Will Require Vaccines or Negative COVID Tests From Artists + Concertgoers

Live Nation Entertainment, one of the country’s largest concert and ticketing companies, has announced that effective Monday, October 4, all artists and fans at its venues and festivals will be required to show either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test.

Says Michael Rapino, president and CEO of Live Nation Entertainment:

“Vaccines are going to be your ticket back to shows, and as of October 4th we will be following the model we developed for Lollapalooza and requiring this for artists, fans and employees at Live Nation venues and festivals everywhere possible in the US.”

The rule will only take hold “where permitted by law.”

Employees, meanwhile, will be required to be fully vaccinated, and cannot simply use a negative test result.

AEG, Live Nation’s largest competitor, instituted a similar policy earlier this week.

The announcements come just as a number of artists — including the Foo FightersBuckcherryLimp Bizkit, and Mammoth WVH — have been forced to cancel shows or entire tours due to the surge in COVID infections across the country.
