Leela James Releases Video for ‘See Me’

R&B

Leela James has unlocked a music video for the title track to her most recent album, See Me.

The simple yet delightful video, directed by Eric Daniels and Matthew Houck, follows James around a spacious warehouse where it’s just her and her emotions flowing freely.

The visual for “See Me” is the latest of several from James’ in recent months, including the LP standout “You’re The One” and empowering “Break My Soul.”

James’ See Me is among Rated R&B’s Best R&B Albums of 2021. In a July interview, she spoke about the personal album, breaking down several tracks, including “Complicated,” the lead single.

“I wanted to give the people something that I felt we needed in the R&B and soul culture, from a time where we used to feel it and it used to sound like that. [It’s] throwback, but it’s still fresh and new.”

She later turned her number-one single into a duet featuring Anthony Hamilton.
