Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe Tests Positive for COVID, Chimaira’s Mark Hunter to Replace Him at Tonight’s Grand Rapids Show

Metal

It’d take a lot to keep Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe from pleasing an audience, but a COVID diagnosis is no joke for a tour, both medically and legally. The band have announced via social media that Randy tested positive for COVID this weekend and will sit out of tonight’s show in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The upside, however, is that Lamb of God have brought in one hell of a ringer: Chimaira‘s Mark Hunter!

Here’s Lamb of God’s statement:

“Grand Rapids – Randy Blythe tested positive for COVID over the weekend and has been isolating away from the rest of the band. While his symptoms have been mild and he’s on the mend, he will not be able to perform tonight at the Van Andel Arena. However, the show will go on! We are working to put together a special show with our brother Mark Hunter from Chimaira taking over the mic and a few friends helping out as well. We’ll see you tonight!

“We are hopeful he will be able to return later this week and will update as soon as we can.”

Everyone at MetalSucks wishes Randy a speedy recovery. In the meantime, get tickets to see the band on their current tour with Megadeth, Trivium, and In Flames at one of the dates below:
