Kep1er return with ethereal ‘TIPI-TAP’ music video

K-pop girl group Kep1er have made a comeback with their sixth mini-album ‘TIPI-TAP’ and a music video for its lead single of the same name.

In the new visual, the girl group lounge on a dreamy playground in the sky, surrounded by clouds. “Run, crush on you / Run, crush on you / Can’t stop my crush on you / The code is L-O-V-E,” they sing in the chorus.

‘TIPI-TAP’ is Kep1er’s first release as a septet, after the departure of members Mashiro and Yeseo earlier this year. The act – formed through survival show Girls Planet 999 – were originally a temporary group, though seven members later extended their contracts.

Their last project together as a nine-member group was their first studio album ‘Kep1going On’, which they released alongside its lead single ‘Shooting Star’ in June. Mashiro and Yeseo have since returned to their original agency, 143 Entertainment, and debuted in the group MADEIN.

“We worried about how we would manage, especially with two members gone,” said member Kim Chae-hyun in a recent interview with The Korea Times. “Distributing parts became a challenge, and no matter how hard we worked, we were afraid we might not be able to fully fill the empty spots”.

In the same interview, Kep1er leader Choi Yu-jin also hinted at possible upcoming solo activities for the group’s members. “We each have so much to show individually, too,” she said. “While I can’t share every detail, we made sure our contracts included opportunities for solo activities. So, fans can look forward to seeing us explore various projects.”

Elsewhere in K-pop, BIG BANG’s G-Dragon has returned with a new single titled ‘Power’, his first solo music in seven years. The singer and rapper partnered with independent label Empire for the release, having left long-time agency YG Entertainment last year.
