K. Michelle Releases ‘Scooch’ Video

R&B

K. Michelle can sing from a music box any day.

In the Derek Blanks-directed video for her current single “Scooch,” the seasoned veteran is staged as the centerpiece of a music box found on a dresser surrounded by pink beauty products.

K. Michelle isn’t dancing alone in the box. She’s rotating with two other ladies, who have a cute choreographed routine for the lighthearted jam.

Besides the outfit switches in the mirrored scene, K. Michelle attracts attention for the cozy segment with her and a bearded gentleman who has his eyes on her derriere.

“Scooch” is the lead single to K. Michelle’s forthcoming album I’m The Problem.

Originally scheduled to arrive this month, the album, expected to be her last R&B-focused set, is promised to be “super emotional” for the singer-songwriter.

“I’ve been healing through this album,” K. Michelle told Rated R&B in a recent interview.

“I have dealt with my relationship through this album. I have dealt with my relationship with my son through this album. I have dealt with where I want to go in my future through this album. I’m at a crossroads in my life right now. So that’s what this is about.”

In that same interview, she chatted about her just-capped Lifetime series My Killer Body with K. Michelle and her much-teased country album

“Right now, starting a whole new genre in a whole new city, whole new everything, it’s different. It’s just a musical year for me, but it’s a different vibe on it,” she explained

K. Michelle last released All Monsters Are Human in 2020.
