Jordin Sparks has surprised her fans with the release of her new holiday EP, The Gift of Christmas.
The four-track set features Sparks’ heartwarming covers of holiday classics, including “O Come, All Ye Faithful” and “Silent Night.”
The Gift of Christmas arrives in partnership with Epidemic Sound, a global music licensing company.
“I’m always open to trying new things, even if it has never been done before,” says Sparks. “Epidemic Sound’s 50/50 royalty split, upfront payment, and the freedom for artists to choose their own path and work on different projects at the same time is unique and the reason why it was a no-brainer for me to work with them.”
She continues, “I love Christmas, was born three days before it, and feel like it runs through my veins. I had a vision to create this wonderful Christmas world, and Epidemic Sound shared my vision.”
According to press materials, Sparks’ partnership with Epidemic Sound will continue into 2024.
“Jordin’s awe-inspiring vocals are beautifully supported by strings, horns, grand piano, and choir expertly arranged and recorded by our incredible roster of artists,” notes John Cleary, Epidemic Sound’s director of Americas and global music recruitment.
Cleary adds, “We’re delighted to introduce Jordin’s debut Epidemic Sound EP to our community of content creators and brands, as well as listeners and fans across the world, and we’re excited to continue the partnership in 2024. Stay tuned.”
The Gift of Christmas comes just days after Sparks released an original holiday track, “Candy Cane Lane,” which she co-wrote with Emoni Matthews.
Holiday music aside, Sparks released her new single “Call My Name” in October.
The Dem Jointz-produced track debuted at No. 24 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. It marked Sparks’ first entry on this chart in over a decade. “Call My Name” currently sits at No. 26 at the time of publication.
“Call My Name” will appear on Sparks’ forthcoming project, which will follow her 2015 album, Right Here, Right Now.
