R&B

John Legend has released the official for “Wonder Woman” from his new album, LEGEND, out now.

The aesthetically pleasing visual, directed by Nabil Elderki, was filmed in the Tuscan region of Italy. (Elderki also directed the video for Legend’s diamond-selling single “All of Me.”)

The video finds Legend admiring his wife Chrissy Teigen, who is currently pregnant, as she spends time with their children. They also make time to exchange kisses under the sun and moonlight while the kids are away.

“I married my Wonder Woman 9 years ago today. Happy Anniversary, my love. You never cease to amaze me,” Legend tweeted.

The EGOT winner released his eighth LP on Sept. 9 via Republic Records.

LEGEND is a double album that began its journey in early 2021,” Legend shared. “We were spending a lot of time with our closest loved ones, grieving the ones we lost, but also looking forward to a brighter time when we could better protect ourselves from the virus that disrupted all of our lives. We were ready to go back outside! Ready to celebrate again. And I was ready to make music.”

He added, “LEGEND is full of sensuality, joy and celebration. But our lives are more complex than that. My family and I have also been challenged by loss and grief and pain. I wanted to make space on this album to be vulnerable, spiritual and reflective. I needed this music to help me heal, and to hopefully help others heal.”

LEGEND includes the previously shares songs “Dope” featuring JID, “All She Wanna Do” featuring Saweetie and “Honey” featuring Muni Long. The latter tune entered the top 10 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart during the week of Sept. 10. It also features Jazmine Sullivan, Jhené Aiko, Ledisi, Amber Mark, Jada Kingdom, Rapsody and more.

On Oct. 14, Legend will resume his residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. He will play eight shows through Oct. 29.
