Jazmine Sullivan has been announced as the battle advisor for John Legend’s Team Legend for season 22 of NBC’s The Voice.

The news broke via the Emmy-winning show’s Instagram, featuring the EGOT winner revealing who he chose to assist with tough decisions in select rounds.

“I’m just so excited that she’s just here to share her journey with our artists because so many of them look up to her,” Legend explained to E!’s Daily Pop in an Interview.

Sullivan added, “With my story, it’s just about perseverance. Just keep going, keep going. You never know when that moment is going to happen for you, but you got to be true to yourself. You got to keep doing your thing and know who you are, not change that. And then eventually, like you said, people will star to come to you.”

The Voice returns for season 22 on Monday, Sept. 19, at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.

Beyond the competition series, Legend and Sullivan have more together on the horizon. She’ll appear on his eighth studio album LEGEND, which releases Sept. 9 via Republic Records. The song is entitled “Love.”

So far, Legend has shared four songs from his first album for Republic Records, including the Muni Long-assisted “Honey” and the latest “All She Wanna Do” featuring Saweetie. Other guest appearances for Legend include JID, Ledisi, The Free Nationals, Rick Ross, Ty Dolla $ign, Amber Mark and many more.

Legend is currently building buzz for his forthcoming double album with his Love In Las Vegas residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Get more information on the dates and tickets here

Sullivan is riding high from her successful 2021 project Heaux Tales, which won Best R&B Album at the 64th Grammy Awards. She also took home Best R&B Performance for “Pick Up Your Feelings,” a platinum-selling and chart-topping single
