What To Know
- Jasmine Roth opened up about filming the new HGTV series Roast My Rental.
- Roth revealed that Roast My Rental was the “hardest” she’s ever worked on one of her home renovation shows.
- The show was announced shortly before Jasmine shared last month that she’s expecting her third child with her husband, Brett Roth.
Jasmine Roth has been an HGTV mainstay for several years, but her latest project with the network turned out to be her “hardest.”
The Help! I Wrecked My House star opened up about working on the upcoming series Roast My Rental in an Instagram post on Monday, June 22. “I never expected this when I finished filming my new HGTV show,” she wrote on the post’s first slide.
She continued, “I just spent 6 weeks filming HGTV’s newest show ‘Roast My Rental’ (airing 7/24!) with the amazing Leslie Jones and this awesome crew in California. I commuted from Utah for the first half of filming and then the whole fam came and we all lived nearby for the last 3 weeks.”
Roth said she’s “not lying” when she says that Roast My Rental was the “hardest I’ve ever worked on HGTV,” adding, “And for those who know me, you realize what a statement that is!”
Sharing her love for the series, Roth wrote, “This show wasn’t just a ton of work – it was also a lot of fun! I’m so appreciative of the opportunities that come my way and never could I do it without so many talented people. The last day was emotional and filled with so much gratitude. But once the director yelled ‘cut’ and I handed out my thank you gifts – it was home to my family to start packing.”
Jasmine followed up filming the show by going on vacation in Cabo, Mexico, with her husband, Brett Roth, and their two daughters, Hazel and Darla. “I got home at 10pm and we had to leave at 4:45am for the airport,” she said of her quick travel turnaround.
Last month, Jasmine announced that she and Brett are currently expecting their third child. The pregnancy news came on the heels of HGTV’sannouncement of Roast My Rental. The series, which premieres on July 24, will follow Jones as she crashes “America’s worst short-term rentals, whose viral photos of amenities gone wrong, misleading listings and brutally honest reviews have scared guests away,” per the show’s description.
Following Jones’ hilarious roasts of the properties, Roth and her “experienced design team” will “come to the rescue and help the owners clean up the chaos in just 72 hours,” per the synopsis. “They’ll fix the flaws, transform the houses into top-tier vacation getaways and give the ‘roastees’ a chance at redemption when the next guests come to stay.”
“Millions of people check into vacation rentals each year, but sometimes what’s posted online is not reality. There are rentals with great photos, but the reviews tell a very different story…and I’m gonna find out why,” Jones said in a statement about the series. “As a comedian who’s been on the road for years, trust me, I’ve stayed in a lot of rentals and have seen the good, the bad and the ‘oh hell no.’ These owners know their rentals aren’t working, so they’ve asked me to call out the problems, help fix them and offer them a shot to turn these 1-star disasters into 5-star escapes.”
