Jane’s Addiction Issues “Heartfelt Apology” and Cancels Next Stop on Their Tour Following On-Stage Scuffle

Metal

One come a day the water will run, no sucker-punching bitch boy will stand for things that he has done. In other words, Jane’s Addiction is really sorry about what happened on Friday night’s concert in Boston.

Fans who have been rooting for a reunion of the original four members of the Jane’s Addiction—Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins—have been really excited to finally see the core four back on stage together. So much so that a certain metal writer may have tried to write about it a while back and got told by her editor that Jane’s Addiction is not a band that we cover, for whatever reason. (Jane’s Addiction is more metal than Creed, that’s all I’m sayin’.)

But after a few short months of the original lineup back together, a reportedly intoxicated Perry Farrell seems to have potentially ruined everything by starting a fight with guitarist Dave Navarro right on stage. Not only does that put the rest of the tour in jeopardy, it raises a lot of concerns about Farrell’s on-again-off-again struggle with substance abuse.

The band issued an apology for the incident, and subsequently cancelled the next stop on the tour, issuing the following statement on their Facebook story:

“We want to extend a heartfelt apology to our fans for the events that unfolded last night.

“As a result we will be cancelling tomorrow night’s show in Bridgeport

“Refunds will be issued at your point of purchase – or if you purchased via a third-party reseller (StubHub, SeatGeek, etc.), reach out to them directly.

“Thank you

Jane’s Addiction“

There’s still no word on what’s going to happen with the rest of the tour, and they only have (appropriately enough) three days to figure it out now because their next tour stop is scheduled for September 18 in Toronto. So if you’re holding onto tickets for any of the remaining tour dates, it stands to be seen if you’ll actually get to see the show and, even if the tour does come through your town, there’s a good chance of Farrell will just mumble his way through the songs. But hey, if you’re really into Jane’s Addiction and you’re the gambling type, here’s where you can see them (potentially) on the upcoming tour:
