Inayah Releases New Song ‘For the Streets’

R&B

Inayah is back. The rising singer and songwriter has released “For The Streets,” a kiss-off anthem inspired by Fantasia’s cultural hit “When I See You.”

On the confrontational track, produced by BoogzDaBeast and Pyro Da God, Inayah shuns a cheater and cuts ties after she learns of his tryst.

Now that Inayah knows better, she sings of redemptive declarations like “I’m finally living stress-free” and “I can do bad on my own.”

The official audio of “For The Streets” comes shortly after Inayah received viral admiration for its live take as part of the From the Block series.

The performance has amassed 772,000 views on YouTube since its Nov. 8 upload.

“For The Streets” is Inayah’s first new music release since her latest EP, Insecure, released in September 2022.

The eight-track project includes a feature and co-writing credit from Oscar and Grammy nominee Dixson. It also boasts previously shared songs, “Most Girlz” and “Always Something.”

Insecure is an emotional rollercoaster of me attempting to sanely navigate my postpartum journey. The project healed me and I hope that it can touch and do the same for anyone listening,” explained Inayah.

Inayah hit the road in support of Insecure earlier this year. She also recently had a set at the inaugural Honeyland Festival in Sugar Land, Texas.

In September, Inayah was awarded a platinum certification (more than one million equivalent units sold) for her 2019 fan favorite “Best Thing.” It makes her first certified song release to date.
