Grand Cadaver Unveil New Track “Skinless Gods”

Metal

Swedish death metal supergroup Grand Cadaver released the second half of their 7” double A-side single following the release of the first single, “Terminal Exit,” last month. The new track is called “Skinless Gods,” which is so named because skinless is the healthiest way to eat your gods. All of the fat is in the skin.

According to their website, Grand Cadaver were formed as a pandemic project, uniting members of The Grifted, Novarupta, Let Them Hang, Vorder, Pagandom, Dark Tranquility and more. As an ignorant American, I can only assume that there’s nothing to do all day in Sweden but to eat Swedish Fish  and start death metal bands, even when not in the midst of a global pandemic.

In honor of the two new singles, Grand Cadaver unveiled a new t-shirt with artwork designed by Albin Emanuel Sköld at Illusive Artwork. The disgusting artwork features a zombified creature strung up by its wrists and wearing a crown of thorns (Jesus, is that you?) as the lower half of its body decomposes into a hideous mass of hands and mouths. According to a post from Sköld on Instagram, the artwork was not originally intended for the cover of a Grand Cadaver 7”, but as soon as the band saw it they jumped on the artwork for their new single. Then again, it’s hard to imagine what artwork like this could be used for if not for a death metal album cover. Maybe it could be the mural outside of a pre-school. That would make for some fun nightmares.

The “Terminal Exit”/”Skinless Gods” single is now available to order off of the band’s Bandcamp page.
