GoFundMe Announced in Support of Andrew Scott Thomas’ Fight Against Lung Cancer
Several weeks ago, my good friend and extreme metal maniac, Andrew Scott Thomas, was diagnosed with Stage 3 lung cancer. After complaining about shortness of breath, doctors discovered a large, 15 x 10 x 14 cm heterogeneously enhancing mass in his left lung, as well as another suspected pleural-based mass measuring approximately 8 cm.

This type of cancer can be aggressive if not treated promptly and thoroughly. Andy is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments and will require many more treatment sessions and other therapy to beat it. This will be a long road and complications will be considerable.

As heartbreaking as the news is, he’s demonstrating considerable resolve and grace. That’s Andy. Always upbeat, humble, but ready for battle like a true war master. He’ll give you the shirt off his back, no questions asked, no expectations. He also plays a large part in the North Carolina metal scene — everyone knows Andy, and rightfully so.

I’m setting up this GoFundMe to help Andy and his son at this very difficult time. Please donate anything — small donations are great, but large donations are METAL!

These funds will go directly toward medical bills, housing costs in North Carolina, care for his son, and daily life needs like groceries, gas, etc. Your donations will lift a heavy weight off Andy’s shoulders and give him time — which he desperately needs — while he’s out of work at the local tire factory to treat, recover, and crush this insidious disease.

If you’re unable to donate, give Andy a horns up, an invisible orange, and a hearty hail.

Thank you! …For victory! Donate here.
