Hot off the release of her Whirlwinddeluxe album, Lainey Wilsonhas revealed to Taste of Country Nights that she is already working on another album— and she gave us some details.
Is Lainey Wilson Working on New Music?
We asked the “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer if she is already working on new music, to which she replied, “Always. Always. I mean, I’m already working on the next record.”
Whirlwind‘s new deluxe version has five new songs on it, and Wilson sees past that like it’s already in the rearview. Even though the record just came out on Aug. 22, she’s already onto the next project.
When Will Lainey Wilson Release New Music?
As far as the timeline for her next album, Wilson said, “Hopefully, that’s right around the corner.”
She explained how time moves so fast in her position.
“I feel like I have to think way ahead, because we are already talking about, ‘What does 2027 look like?'” she said.
“We have everything mapped out because everything just moves so quick and time is just like, poof, gone.
“You gotta make sure that you’re taking the time to write the songs and taking the time to be in the studio, but also taking the time to live so you can write the songs.”
With Wilson’s incisive lyrics and fierce delivery,the songs that are on the way next will likely continue to boost her career to even bigger heights.
From the sounds of it, we will probably have a new Lainey Wilson record in 2026, complete with a full supporting tour that extends into 2027.
